Tell Congress: Protect the Mothers and Children of Gaza!

May 12 is Mother’s Day, and so many Palestinian children have had their mothers ripped from them by Israel’s relentless bombing of Gaza. How can we expect stability in Gaza when so many children will grow up without their mothers? What about the mothers that have survived but have lost the children that made them mothers in the first place?

On November 7, 2023, the children of Gaza held a press conference to plead with the international community to protect their lives. At that time, 4,200 children had been murdered by Israel. Now, that number has more than tripled. 

Despite these horrific numbers, members of the Senate Subcommittee on Children and Families have yet to take significant steps to end this genocide that’s destroying the children and families of Gaza. Sign the petition below to demand they call for a permanent and immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and, just as importantly, the end of US arms sales to Israel. On Mother’s Day, we’ll deliver the petition to them in Congress!

Dear members of the Senate Subcommittee on Children and Families,

We, the undersigned, are writing to you to express the urgent need for your committee to properly address the fatal situation of the children in Gaza due to Israel’s genocide campaign. Since October 7th, Israel has murdered nearly 34K Palestinians, about 15K of them are children. We can’t allow this tragic figure to grow any larger, and it’s up to you to stop it.

As members of a subcommittee specifically focused on children and families, it is your responsibility to be the voice of reason. We urge you to take the lead in calling for a permanent and immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and, just as importantly, the end of US arms sales to Israel. It is completely unacceptable for the US to continue to arm a country that has committed destruction on the scale of Israel. It is clear that Israel is not carrying out targeted attacks by the amount of civilians, aid workers, journalists, and healthcare workers that have been murdered. 

May 12 is Mother’s Day, and so many Palestinian children have had their mothers ripped from them by Israel’s relentless bombing of Gaza. What about the mothers that have survived but have lost the children that made them mothers in the first place? For a sustainable end to this violence, the US must completely stop arming Israel, and this committee has every reason to demand that.

This Mother’s Day, protect the mothers of Gaza and their children by calling for a permanent and immediate ceasefire, and an end to all US aid to Israel!
