Sir! No Sir! is a powerful film that shows how GI resistance to the Vietnam War infested the entire armed services, flourishing in army stockades, navy brigs, in the dingy towns that surround military bases, and throughout the battlefields of Vietnam. Organize an event to screen this film in your community!
Plan a house party and use the Sir! No Sir! DVD as an outreach and organizing tool in your community:
Step 1: Order the DVD today.
Step 2: Host a gathering to show the DVD. You can do this in your house or apartment, at your school, in a local religious institution or community center, or at a union hall. Click here to download a house party toolkit with fundraising suggestions from United for Peace and Justice. Contact us if you need help planning your event by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling (415) 575-5555. Please register your event with us by emailing your event details to email@example.com, so that we can send you a code that will enable you to sell DVDs at your event, with a small amount of the proceeds going to support CODEPINK.
Step 3: Be sure to get the names and contact information of everyone who shows up when you show the DVD. Add them to your contact list and invite them to future antiwar activities and events. Invite attendees to sign the Voters for Peace pledge. Click here to download a sign up sheet that you can print out for your event.
Step 4: Use the film to support the growing number of soldiers who are resisting the Iraq war! Download our flyer about supporting war resister sisters by clicking here. Consider raising funds to support war resisters by donating to Iraq Veterans Against the War and the War Resisters Support Campaign in Canada. Click here for more links about war resisters.
CODEPINK wishes to thank war resisters who starred in the Sir! No Sir! film and joined our Troops Home Fast campaign by fasting on Friday, August 11, 2006. Fasting war resisters include: Susan Schnall, Mike Wong, Randy Rowland, and Tom Brenard. Sir! No Sir! director David Zeiger and the film's outreach and production team also joined the fast.
