WHEN: Thursday, March. 15, 12 PM WHERE: Outside the Rayburn Building, Independence and South Capitol, Washington, DC WHAT: CODEPINK peace activists who have been lobbying hard against the Supplement Bill allocating $100 billion for the war in Iraq will respond to today’s vote in the House Appropriations Committee with a colorful press conference and action outside the Rayburn Building, where the mark up meeting is being held. They will express their dismay that the Democrats, who were given a mandate for peace in the November election, are allowing a bill to go to the House floor that lets the war drag on into 2008 instead of using their power of the purse to cut funds for the war.
VISUALS: Colorful visuals include shopping carts full of tanks, guns and body parts with signs saying “Don’t Buy Bush’s War” and large pink banners.
