WASHINGTON D.C. - Concerned women from around the country are gathering
in Washington DC today to 'blow the whistle' on congress for their
decision to condone a widespread stop-loss policy in the military. This
policy requires soldiers to involuntarily extend their tours (while
congress extends their vacation).

"It is immoral for congress to go on vacation while they are making
American soldiers involuntarily extend their tours," stated CODEPINK
Washington D.C. Coordinator Gael Murphy.

CODEPINK will be handing out citations to members of congress as they
leave Capitol Hill for their second vacation in two months. CODEPINK is
joining over a dozen other organizations in calling on congress to stop
this policy and end the war before going on vacation. For more
information, visit http://www.stop-losscongress.org

WHEN: Wednesday, March 12, 5:00pm

WHERE: Metro South Capitol (behind House Congressional buildings)

Great photo opps!
