July 5, 2005: Venice, CA, Book Reading Event

The book signing opened with Nadia McCaffrey, her son Patrick was killed in Iraq. He was one of the first national guard deployed to Iraq after being told when he joined that he would never be sent to war. She was followed our authors Jasmina Tesanovic of Women in Black Serbia and Eisha Mason from Center for Non-Violence. Fernando Suarez del Solar, had the tears rolling with the story of his son Jesus, who was killed in Iraq. For both Nadia and Fernando it was their only child and now they are giving their lives to end this tragic war.

Medea and Jodie put out a call for action for our July 23rd After Downing Street rally and teach in and our call to join us in New York September 24 to 26. Rae told the group about our upcoming counter recruitment training camp in Malibu. The evening finished with a fabulous rally song by Linda Leonardo. Catherine Ingram another of our authors joined us in the book signing.
