I am so thankful to you and the other fasters for taking such selfless action to demonstrate for the closure of the torture prison. I don’t have an answer to your last question, but do know that your courage in fasting and your public presence has had and will continue to have a positive impact. You are an inspiration. So well-written, especially considering you are fasting! Both the opening quote and the closing question are haunting and will linger in my mind. Thank you for your courage in carrying this struggle to end torture in your own body, and to the place it needs to come: Washington, DC.
