How is all the "Hope & Change" working for you since Jan 20 2009 ?

Seems like after hope was placed in President Obama..Nothing has changed.
Yet I see no protest against Obamas war..very sad

There will be troops past 2010. But the difference is that the troops that will be there will be used as in support role rather then independent action. Becuase even though the Iraqi army and police have taken the lead in most of the country, they still need and request training from US Forces.

As there are several constriction jobs and city repairs that the Iraqi population want from the government to the local village elder. That is why not all of us are leaving right away.

Also may I ask why not all of my comments have approved yet?

If there are any US troops in Iraq in 2010, Congressional Democrats are in serious trouble.

Here is another point on how troops can keep the peace and inprove people's lives.

I am sure that you know about the National Guard in LA that have been helping since 2005. But now that they are leaving the people are getting upset.

Also take a note at the comment in that artile too. Sending troops works and is a viable plan now. When I aked about Code pinks plan if they opposed sending troops, I was expecting some kind of workable step by step plan rather then some vage ideas that code pink expects someone else to figure out. It is just as bad as not haveing a plan at all.

"is disheartened by President Obama’s announcement this morning for troop withdrawal by Aug. 2010, later than his campaign promise, leaving residual troops until December 2011."

Moving that many troops takes time, you cannot just simply checkout like a hotel.

"the U.S. government should increase efforts in diplomacy, humanitarian aid and refugee resettlement."

That is what the US forces are doing now. We are constantly trying to fix and improve Iraq for it's people so they can live normal lives.

"Continued troop presence will only encourage more armed opposition within Iraq and will not force the Iraqi government and Iraqi factions to negotiate power."

How is that? We have been keeping the violence between the diffrent groups down and have been makeing thm work together. For example the Sunnis are playing more of a part of the goverment then just boycotting the elections like they did in 2005.

"“And there hasn’t been any word on military bases left in Iraq that will continue to drain billions of dollars from U.S. taxpayers at a time where that money is very much needed at home."

Considering the new stumulis bill that passed is more of a burden on taxpayers the the OIF and OEF have been.
