| 3 Code Pinks infiltrated Nicholas Burns's "interview" with Egypt's Ambassador to the US at Harvard's Kennedy School. We let them do their futile non-exchange. But at the beginning of the Q&A period, we held up signs (one large fluorescent pink : "Egypt is puppet of US and Israel! Free Gaza Now!"; one with Palestinian flag background, "Mr Mubarak, take down that wall!" Told that people's view was blocked by the big sign, I lowered it, stood up and really let loose with a 2-minute accusation. Nice effect in those staid surroundings.It was a real surprise, well-deserved gesture of thanks for the kind of hospitality we GFMers got from Mubarak's regime. How gauche, how declasse to be rude to such men when the children, women and men of Gaza are being martyred, when there is no justice, no peace for any Palestinians. Not to mention all the other horrors our government is responsible for. | ||
