Free Bradley Manning!

September 19, 2010
Los Angeles, CA

Sunday’s Free Bradley Manning demonstration at the top of Santa Monica Pier brought together friends from the Los Angeles activist community, including free-style poets and vets for peace who held their weekly memorial on the beach below.

Tens of teenagers were nearby holding a Peace Day parade, flying sky-high puppet doves and sporting CODEPINK’s “Make Out, Not War” stickers.

CODEPINK and the Bradley Manning Support Network held signs demanding the release of the 22-year old whistle blower. Table goodies included both silver and pink whistles. Three CODEPINK dogs were on hand, along with a pinked-out pup. A simultaneous demonstration was held in San Diego. For the latest on Manning’s case see

Even if you missed Sunday’s events, it’s important that we continue to get people out on the streets with whistles, banners and posters! While the Bradley Manning Support Network has had little luck in sending letters, in has been able to show him photos from events across the US.
