San Francisco, CA
Bay Area CODEPINK kicked off the January 20th day of action dressed as giant squids at the Bank of America tower which also includes the offices of Goldman Sachs, which Rolling Stone journalist Matt Taibbi refers to as "a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money."
Three CODEPINKers - Cynthia Papermaster, Nancy Mancias, and Janet Weil -- staged an action inside Goldman Sachs' upscale office which ended dramatically in the lobby of the B of A tower. See video below.
We joined in the Occupy the Courts protest of the "Citizens United" decision in front of SF's Federal Courthouse. Kudos to Susan Harman for great outreach and delivering a demand document to the Court.
Janet Weil spoke out at a teach-in outside war profiteer Bechtel's office building, and there were codepinkers and allies in support.
Finishing off the cold rainy day, CODEPINK co-sponsored a massive flashmob at Justin Herman Plaza, the former site of the largest Occcupy SF encampment.
