Women's Green Tea Party AntiNuclear Gathering

Green Tea Party for peace and for the world free from nukes and
nuclear power plants in Shizuoka was held in Suruga-ku, Shizuoka City on Feb 27, and more than 55 persons took
part in it. Shizuoka Hibakusha Association, Shizuoka Inter-religious
Council for Peace, Shizuoka Council against A & H Bombs, and Shizuoka
Mothers Congress approved this gathering, adding to Kyoto
Inter-religious Council for Peace, Kyoto Rissho Peace Association, and
Kyoto & Shiga Christians Peace Association.

This party was held by women who participated in the action for
abolishment of nukes in May 2010.

Ms. Hisae Ogawa, the chief staff and CODEPINK local coordinator, said that they should raise their
voice to insist to oppose nuclear weapons or nuclear power generation
in Shizuoka, the place of the fifth Lucky Dragon contaminated by
Hydrogen testing in Bikini Atoll. This accident became the trigger of
worldwide movement of anti-nuclear, immediate before the first
anniversary of the disaster of Fukushima nuclear power plant.

Ms. Nobuyo Goto, a part-time lecturer of Fukushima Medical
University, gave a lecture. She told about the Occupy movements in
NYC, etc. that occurred to take the true democracy back from the rich
of 1%, and about young mothers movement in Fukushima to raise their
voices to protect their children from radiation.

Ms. Goto also emphasized that the anger against unrighteousness and
unreasonableness was the common point of these world movements.

Ms. Takako Kasuya, who is the president of Shizuoka Mothers Congress,
said, We would like to make an effort as much as we can to realize
the endless stop & the decommissioning of Hamaoka nuclear power plant
and the world free from nuclear weapons and nuclear power plants.

The organically grown green tea produced in Fujisawa City was served,
Ms. Junko Ono who is a singer songwriter sang some her songs. The
picture play that talked about Sadako Sasaki who died by leukemia by
A-bomb in Hiroshima, and the report about solidarity with American
religious people who apologized for dropping A-bombs, etc. were presented.
Adding to them, the new pictures of A-bombs Atomic Bombs and human
being in Hiroshima and Nagasaki were displayed.
