East Bay CODEPINK's daily action to shut down the Marines Recruting Center included a mothers' breastfeeding group and a Kiss-in action. Iraq Veteran against the War Travis and his partner Vi organized the kiss-in, and created a banner that read, "Stay and Kiss: Don't Enlist/That Way Everybody Makes Out." Passersby honked, waved and blew kisses in support. Activists had a lengthy discussion with two Marines recruiters outside. The protest continues daily throughout December with "How Berkeley Can U Be?" type actions, including tai chi and yoga and art displays. | |
